Episode 40: The Gay Killer Strikes Again (and again)
Guest-tember continues as Dawn and Jen welcome Vox culture reporter Aja Romano to the podcast to discuss the unfortunate trope of the gay/lesbian killer. With so many examples, it's difficult to narrow it down, but from Oscar Wilde's Dorian Gray to NBC's Hannibal's cast of queer murderers the ladies pick apart what makes the trope and why it's endured for so long.
Along the way, they ponder the pitfalls of a modern remake of Harold and Maude, the unfortunate article of clothing known as the "wife-beater," and make a slight detour to discuss Don't Breathe.
A huge thanks to Aja for joining the podcast this episode! You can read her work on Vox HERE, and follow her on Twitter at @ajaromano.
Thanks always to The Shape for the intro/outro music.
